Yotes Add To Their Blueline
They Arizona Coyotes have signed defensemen Keith Aulie and Corey Potter to try-out contracts.
Keith Aulie is heading into his 7th pro season of his career. The 6 foot 6, 223 pound defenseman spent last season with the Edmonton Oilers organization where he recorded 1 point in 31 games for the Oilers and 1 point in 8 games for the Barons. The 26 year old was drafted in the 4th round, 116th overall by the Calgary Flames in 2007.
Corey Potter totaled 10 points in 25 games with the Adirondack Flames last season as the assistant captain. He also recorded 6 games (0 points) with the Calgary Flames last year. The 31 year old, 6 foot 3, 209 pound defenseman was drafted 4th round, 122nd overall by the New York Rangers in 2003.
Both players could be signed to two-way contracts which would provide the Yotes with comfort. The Coyote blueline is young, and their AHL is loaded with prospects. Aulie and Potter would provide some veteran experience, as well as allow the Yotes to have a call up option without messing with any development of any prospects.
