Rob Schremp

The Portland Pirates have signed Rob Schremp to a Professional Try-out Contract.

The 29 year old centerman heads back to North America after 4 years of overseas play between the SHL, KHL, NLA, and Austria with a couple small stints in Belarus and the NLB. Last year, Schremp totaled 6 goals, 20 points in 42 games playing for Skelleftea AIK of the SHL.

Once one of the highly touted prospects of Edmonton (drafted 1st round, 25th overall by EDM in 2004), Schremp looks to have a return to North America to help an AHL team loaded with this generation’s highly touted prospects. Portland’s lineup may include names such as Henrik Samuelsson, Anthony Duclair and Max Domi. Domi of course coming from the same junior team as Schremp, the London Knights.

The 5 foot 11, 201lbs forward will be looking to make an impression, as this may provide an opportunity to slip into Arizona’s weaker lineup and return to NHL action.
