The Columbus Blue Jackets have one of the strongest prospect pools in the league. Their top 4 prospects are all 1st rounders and some could argue the 5th should have been in retrospect. Unlike a lot of teams, Columbus’s prospect pool is also well rounded. Their rebuild has worked wonders for them and their future looks very bright for this reason.

Mike Reilly has been in the news recently. The NCAA defenseman says that he is planning on hitting the market as a UFA this offseason. This could be devastating news for the Blue Jackets. He really would have looked good on their blueline. Until he officially is a UFA, he will remain on this list.

Zaar had a very good season overseas, and is planning on joining the Falcons next year. This makes the Jacket’s forward future that much scarier. The Falcons are likely licking their lips at the thoughts of who they could have next season. Expect some time for Zaar to transition to NA ice, but soon after he could explode.

Elvis Merzlinkins had a solid year in net. The recent draftee will be looking to show that he can be consistent next season. This will be a big factor to start to gain some ground on the goalie future superpowers on the Jackets of Bobrovsky, Forsberg and Dansk.

This list contains any skater below 100gp in the regular season and under the age of 26. For goalies it is under 50gp in the regular season and under the age of 26. Ranks 11-20 are on the 2nd page.
