Tampa Bay hopes Purcell can build on his breakthrough year last season where he notched 65 points playing alongside Vincent Lecavalier. Purcell signed an off-season three-year, 13.5 million dollar deal.

2. Sami Salo Expected to Teach The Young

Salo was signed as a free-agent this summer (2yrs/7.5 million) and the 38-year old will be a mentor for an otherwise very young team.

3. Conacher on Fire

Cory Conacher has 11 points in 7 games for the AHL Syracuse Crunch and is the team’s leading scorer.

4. Offensive Defenceman
